Well, second week back and just two students attending school today!
Not what we were expecting, but never mind, it will be all over by Thursday!
Having said that, we would be remiss if we didn’t start planning for a longer stretch, and our IT person is currently updating student emails and class groups in preparation for that.
Teachers will also be focused on making sure they are not taken unawares if we don’t come back. They are spending time on this today and tomorrow so there won’t be the usual photo content in this newsletter.
Hopefully, we’ll know more about what’s happening on Wednesday.
Whole school BBQ and meeting
For the moment this has a big question mark underneath it on our entrance blackboard.
If we are allowed to meet we will set up a microphone on the hall verandah for a Whole School Meeting. Failing that it will probably be a Zoom.
Our aim for this is to introduce the staff for this year, and talk about some of the whole school events over the year. I know Danielle Parent would also like to talk about the role of the PnF.
It’s also a good time to meet our parent representative on the Board who is Amy Buchanan.
Parent-teacher interviews
The simplest thing for these is to just move them to next week, same time, same place. If that can’t happen just contact your teacher and you can even arrange an online interview instead.
Wednesday sport
If this lockdown is a one-off we will be able to organize an extra session for tennis and possibly also for the swimming, so we’re crossing our fingers about that one. Leah is also very flexible, as is Georgie, so we’ll have a chat with them about a make-up lesson for Movement Matters and horse riding.
Hope you’re all taking advantage of this sunshine and are doing your 2 hours exercising with the children, I hear the local playgrounds are not closed, that’s good!
