  • A police visit, the local post office and pen pals

May 4, 2021 by Ashley Penny

As I mentioned previously, Community is a general theme over the school this term.

Today the younger children are having a visit from the Police as a way of finding out the different organisations which help the community.

Our Community - A visit from the police

I’ve just heard the police siren as I’m writing this, which was exciting for some and too loud for others.

At the end of last week, Melissa’s and Laura’s groups also visited the local post office and letter writing has been the focus for their writing tasks.

Our Community - Posting a letter

The older children are about to start writing to pen friends which brought forth some interesting comments from one child, who had learnt the cyber safety protocols quite well.

He was concerned that we were giving out our personal details to strangers – a valid point. Then Sam explained that they would be using the school’s address.

Have a great week
