Village School fundraiser: The Great Aussie Schools’ Forest
Village School is proud to be growing our very own forest to help stop the decline in Australia’s threatened wildlife, as part of the WOODiWiLD / Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots initiative.
Parents and supporters of the school purchase a tree for $10, $2 of which goes to the school and will be put back into our own Environmental program.
The trees get planted in the Village School forest, and you can name your tree if you choose, then track your tree through the GPS provided.
Our micro-forest is planted alongside other participating school’s micro-forests to create The Great Aussie Schools’ Forest.
About WOODiWiLD
WOODiWiLD has been created with the sole purpose of replanting trees on farms across Australia to provide habitat for our threatened wildlife and to help address climate change.
They will plant our trees with farmers, on previously cleared farmland, to provide much-needed trees for our endangered and unique wildlife to live in.
WOODiWiLD’s goal is to plant 1 million trees over the next decade.
Celebrate our amazing school community
The whole school theme this term is “Community” and we feel that this fundraiser will be a perfect way to celebrate our own school community.
What a beautiful thing it will be to have a Village School micro-forest in amongst The Great Aussie School’s Forest.
Please share the fundraiser with family and friends, and ask them to buy a tree – or trees – in our Village School Forest as well, so we can reach as many people as possible and grow a huge forest for the school.
For more information on the initiative go to woodiwild.org or download the WOODiWiLD Great Aussie Schools Forest flyer.
Remember to search for Village School (North Croydon) in the dropdown box to purchase trees for our school.
Make sure to name your tree(s) and help us reach our ever-growing target of 50 100 200 trees.
