Village School Farm
The Village Farm is an essential part of the school's social development program. The children are responsible for the care and well-being of the farm animals and their enclosure. This encourages organisational skills, time management, team effort and observational skills.
Handling animals also means confronting fears and learning strategies for success; this leads to the development of self-reliance and self-respect.
Our farm animals currently include Angora goats, geese, chickens as well as various Goldfish and Guinea Pigs that are housed in the class rooms. Ponies are also part of the school curriculum and are sometimes agisted in the school paddocks.

"One day a magic pumpkin patch appeared in the animal enclosure. It must have grown from scraps we fed to our animals.
"Cathy showed us how to give the bees a helping hand so that some pumpkins would grow. We had so many pumpkins that we sold some to parents. That put extra money into our special business: "Very Important Poo & Products" - VIPP.
"We also made more money by cooking some for pumpkin soup. We had this for Special Lunches which meant that all the money went to VIPP that week."
